Role Summary:

  Responsible for leading the overall improvement of manufacturing and assembly processes, team development and to provide a consistent technical approach. Plan, organize, mentor and monitor the implementation of all set activities in Lean, Manufacturing and Maintenance Engineering.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Align with Production, Quality, Finance and Product Engineering teams to develop and implement Lean and Manufacturing Engineering long range planning (LRP).
  • Assess current state value stream, customer needs, and business priorities - identify and deliver on strategic improvement opportunities that result in Value Improvement Process (VIP) and cost savings.
  • Partner with larger Polaris teams onimplementing best practices across plant operations.
  • Balance competing requests across production tosupport set goals and site strategic initiatives.
  • Direct the development of improved manufacturing processes and equipment for current and new products.
  • Direct the DFA and DFM on current and new products, to facilitate manufacturing, improve quality and reduce costs.
  • Analyze daily production reporting to identify where the standards, the performance, the tools, or other elements appear to be unsatisfactory.
  • Develop in conjunction with larger team the justification, purchase and installation of capital equipment for new product,cost reduction, expansion or replacement.
  • Supervise the initiation and development of documented manufacturing systems and procedures.
  • Facilitate all lean activities including tiered meetings, kaizens, and lean training.
  • Coordinate strategic studies and projects relating to equipment, process improvement, cost reduction and plant layouts. Outlines scope, objectives and approach, reviews progress and results, and presents findings to management.
  • Responsible for the direct supervision of the Lean, Manufacturing Engineering and other support staff.
  • Work in safe and healthy manner, strictly following and enforcing all safety rules and regulations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing engineering
  • 4+ years previous Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering experience

The Continuous Improvement Regional Process Leader will be accountable for driving acceleration of Meggitt Production System (MPS) to achieve top quartile sustainable business results across the Region or Value Stream, and building capability in business critical MPS standards across the regional sites.

Job Core Responsibilities 

  • Ensure that MPS capability building has direct impact on regional sites business results. Supports the execution of SBU vital few strategic priorities (including Inventory focus, Margin Expansion, MPS maturity) – working closely with the Value Stream Leaders, site Leaders and the rest of the site leadership teams

  • Build systemic MPS capability across value stream or site leadership (cross-functional) and accountable for capability building across the sites within the region or value stream (using learning and development plans). Especially supporting site leaders, site MPS Leaders, HR Leaders and site Operations Leaders through coaching, advising, and training
  • Capture leading practices from across Meggitt and SBU, and the sharing & application within region or value stream. Support MPS development of tools and methods including Organization Design (OD) tools, Lean Management Systems, Six Sigma, and Lean & Waste elimination approaches key to MPS system effectiveness
  • Actively support the MPS Exit plans (including maturity gaps) for sites and responsible for assessing site maturity readiness for exits (verifying process & results) across the regional sites for both operations and other functional areas
  • Support MPS talent within region across the SBUs – coaching site MPS Leaders and actively engaging with the MPS community
Job Specifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Industrial, Supply Chain management or equivalent technical field
  • Master's Degree or MBA preferred
  • 10+ year experience in  leading Manufacturing / Maintenance Repair Operations (MRO) site’s operations or equivalent at a large Fortune 500/ FTSE 250 company
  • 5+ year experience in Operating System Development and Deployment, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma/DMAIC methodology
  • 2+ year experience in manufacturing/souricng transitions management is preferred             
  • Experience in managing operations and/or supply chain in Aerospace or other engineering technology company/s is a must.
  • Ideal candidate can demonstrate prior experience deploying such systems at a large industrial (preferably Aerospace) Company (Fortune 500/FTSE 250) and has seen though maturity phases and several stages of excellence
  • Additional experience in one or more of the following is preferred: Organization Design (OD)/ Organizational Effectiveness (OE) toolset and methodology; Program Management (PM) and New Product Introduction (NPI); Strategic Sales and Marketing (SSM)
  • Lean Expert level Certification (or Black Belt) or equivalent is highly desirable
  • Program/Project Management certification preferred
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong prioritization and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively facilitate the implementation of significant changes in a large organization
  • Clear understanding of the linkages of demand through production and distribution- Design for Flow
  • Track record of driving solutions to assigned tasks utilizing a proactive approach to problem solving
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic planning as well as tactical execution road map development
  • Conflict management, decision-making, analytical, and research skills

Job description
The Senior Production Planner is responsible for releasing work orders for their designated work centers, and working with operations, quality and engineering personnel to ensure that orders are processed to meet production lead time, ontime delivery, past due, and inventory target KPI’s. They are also responsible for purchasing components and outside processes from suppliers for their designated work centers.
Duties
  • Creates work orders according to heijunka schedule and forecast.
  • Schedules production and sets priorities.
  • Actively participates in new product launches.
  • Processes delivery notes for transfer of finished product to central warehouse.
  • Places purchase orders for components and outside processing.
  • Places intercompany orders for components manufactured by Nobel Biocare subsidiaries.
  • Updates SAP planning parameters as required.
  • Manages inventory of components (kanban).
  • Cycle count reconciliation.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years professional experience in supply chain, procurement, or planning.
  • Critical Skills/technical Know-how
  • Knowledge of SAP or similar ERP software.
  • Excel expertise (formulas, pivot tables, V lookup).
  • Learn, embrace, utilize Danaher Business System (DBS).
Critical Experience
  Experience working in a fast-paced environment and ability to multi-task preferably with a regulated medical device background.

  • SAFETY:
    • Responsible for overall project safety, obtaining final approval for contractor submitted safety plans and compliance to the project safety plan. Includes compliance to all regulatory (OSHA) requirements, corporate governance requirements and FAM SOG’s.
  • PLANNING & DEVELOPMENT:
    • Responsible for the development, planning, execution and closeout of all aspects of the project throughout the project life. Includes project design, development, implementation, budget, cash flow reporting and maintaining accurate EFC’s for financial reporting, and maintenance of all job files.
    • Lead project scope development and options analysis. Lead project estimate development and review with support of Project Estimator. Develop project implementation strategy and schedule with support of Project Scheduler. Obtain funding approval prior to implementation with support of Project Controller.
    • Closely manage project timelines and schedules to manage client expectations and ensure minimum impact to Operations.
  • TEAMWORK AND COLLABORATION:
    • Assemble project teams with internal and external resources to successfully complete all assigned projects.
    • Oversee the efforts of all project team members to ensure that they are working as an integrated team in delivering against project goals.
    • Develop and maintain positive relationships with team members and customers / clients.
    • Partner with all lines of business (LOB) to ensure the final product best meets the intended business objective.
  • CONTRACT DEVELOPMENT:
    • Provide support for the administration of contracts including scope of work, unit costing items, and bid alternates and operational constraints required for contract preparation.
  • PROJECT SCHEDULE:
    • Responsible for the project schedule, establishing critical path task to insure schedule compliance and ensuring proper man loading requirements of the contractor to achieve the desired completion date.
  • CLIENT COMMUNICATION:
    • Responsible for coordinating operational constraints and job objectives together as to achieve a seamless project. Including timely communication with Business Partners, Clients and management regarding project status, schedule, financial and guest impacts.
    • Communicate project information effectively to LOB client and all impacted Resort divisions and management
  • TECHNICAL COMPETENCY:
    • Technically competent with various software programs such as construction management software and Microsoft suite of products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) Utilize project and contract management systems into the daily operation of the business.
  • PROCESS COMPETENCY:
    • Responsible for timely issuance of field directives, collection of costing concurrence memos, conversion to change orders and management approval to allow for accurate EFC reporting and timely job closeout.
    • Manage project budgets and provide timely project spending updates with support of Project Controller.
    • Work closely with Program Manager to accomplish objectives and improve business processes. Focus on continuous performance improvement and efficiency.
